PAINT YOUR PETS
These lessons are designed to deepen your skills and elevate your artistry. Over 3 hours, you’ll explore advanced techniques, refine brushstrokes, and develop a more sophisticated style to create intricate floral paintings. With guidance tailored to intermediate artists, you’ll also experiment with composition and dynamic color palettes to craft truly distinctive works.
Upcoming Classes
In this class we focus on painting your dog in oil paints! Each student brings in an 8x10 or 11x14” paper copy in color of their dog’s photo. In class, everyone traces the photocopy onto the canvas with graphite paper then fills in using small brushes, all the details of their dog’s hair, eyes, and all intricate features. You shall learn the importance of color matching your oil paint colors to the colors on your photocopy. We break twice for 5 minutes in this 4hr class since tracing will take at least 30 minutes. Instructor provides all other supplies. Each student must bring a photocopy in color of their cat enlarged to either 8x10” or 11x14”. For best results, make sure your dog is in a position where its face and neck are clearly visible.

In this class we focus on painting your cat in which each student brings in an 8x10” or 11x14” paper copy in color of their cat’s photo. Each student traces the photocopy onto the canvas with graphite paper then fills in with small brushes, all the details of their pet's hair, eyes, and all intricate features. This lesson will teach you the importance of color matching your oil paint to the colors on your photocopy. Each student paints their own cat so each painting will be different. We break twice for 5 minutes in this 4hr. class because tracing will take at least 30 minutes. Instructor brings pencils, erasers, graphite paper, 11x14” stretched canvas, oil paints, brushes, medium, apron, and baby wipes. Each student must bring a photocopy in color of their cat enlarged to either 8x10” or 11x14” (make sure their whole face and neck are visible for best results and properly lighted).
